      Description

The new ImageMagick PDF Thumbnail may result in wrong background colors of PDF files. I use the DSpace 3.0 pdf manual as test document often. With the ImageMagick filters the thumbnail contains big black parts that should be white.

I tried to set a background color, to use a fill command and to set opaque none. Then I found the following solution in the: "Recent versions of ImageMagick use the Ghostscript pngalpha device to render PDF. The pngalpha device includes an alpha channel. To get the desired results, flatten the image" and "the flatten is required before the image is delivered to the JPEG coder". (Source: http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?t=20446)

I think this should be fixed in DSpace 6.0 and DSpace 5.2. Will create PRs soon.
