      Description

The locations of vivo.all.log, vivosolr.log and solr.log are all based on the environment variable catalina.home.

On servers with a single Tomcat instance, this works as intended. With multiple Tomcat instances, it may or may not work. One option is to have all Tomcats use the same value for catalina.home, while each instance has a different value for catalina.base. (See https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/introduction.html). This will cause all instances to write to the same log files, unless log4j.properties settings are changed for each of these log files.

Another option would be to change the default log4j.properties files so these files are based on catalina.base instead of catalina.home.

See attached screen-shots for examples of single-tomcat and multiple-tomcat installations.
